Review of Jigsaw (2017) by Ryan O — 26 Oct 2017
There's enough nods & nostalgic footnotes to the previous films that'll keep longtime fans somewhat satisfied, but had this film not come out around Halloween and wasn't the one Halloween flick released this month without comedic undertones (i.
E. Boo 2 and Happy Death Day), I honestly don't think anyone would give a damn about this. The plotholes are so big and gnarly, you'd think one of Jigsaw's traps caused them. Had no reason to care about any of these news characters.
..and one of them was named Ryan...thats usually a freebie with me but nope, he can get wrecked with the rest. And the surprise connection to the 7-film franchise feels more shoehorned in than a Cary Elwes role in #7.
