Review of Jesus' Son (2000) by Taylor A — 06 Mar 2009
A surprisingly engaging, sad, and hilarious movie. Billy Crudup is nothing short of amazing. Jack Black is at his comic best in this - "I save lives." A dark, surprising, emotional, and ultimately redemptive look at a person who deals with drug addiction and tries to get his life back together.
It's also a hard look at humanity, why people do things and how everyone gets by. This movie beats you down, then picks you back up. The only problem is Holly Hunter, she's just annoying. Otherwise, this is an incredible movie.
