Review of Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (2001) by A Z — 03 Oct 2007
A horror/comedy/action/musical independent film. If you still don't have a clear picture, let me elaborate. Jesus is back, but before he can deal with the living and the dead, he has to take care of the undead. An army of lesbian vampires, and a few male ones that likes to watch...
He teams up with a mexican pro-wrestler, and Mary Magnum - a poor mans Trinity, who finds out she's a lesbian too. Whadda ya know?!. Add to that a punker priest with an opening in his motorbike helmet to fit his mohawk, a car full of kung-fu atheist and a plot you forget what was about, before the movie is even over, and you have JCVH.
I suspect the budget was something along the lines of 3 dollars and a bag of peanuts, and it shows. Oh boy it shows. The acting is what could be expected for a couple of friends getting together to make a movie, but at least the friends must have had some serious fun. It's hard not to wish you were a part of this team, as you watch, 'cause it must have been hillarious.
'The power of Christ impales you'.
