Review of Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) by Daniel A — 16 Nov 2007
Andrew Lloyd Weber does it again. The movie is a bit different from the stage performance, but uses some of the same voices as heard in the Original Cast Recording album that is certainly one of my favorites.
I wish they'd kept Ian Gillan (a/k/a the lead singer of Deep Purple) in as Jesus, but he was one of the few who didn't make the cross over into the film. Feels dated but the source material is too good to resist.
At least it was for me. Recommended if you're a fan of the musical/album.
