Review of Jersey Girl (2004) by Don S — 04 Jul 2010
Good romantic comedy by director Kevin Smith. The subject matter and language is much tamer than in his other films. Castro is adorable and Tyler is eminently believable as a small town liberal minded store clerk.
For the first time, I finally saw why everyone rags on Affleck; he frankly was awful here. He does not emote well and his performance was very flat. Still, the movie holds your interest and moves at a decent pace.
The Sweeney Todd bit was totally hilarious. And Carlin and Castro's performances more than make up for Affleck's.
