3.5 if I could, pretty good, well done...number one is the songs are way still in my head...CLint Eastwood smoothly directs this hit Broadway show, making the transition pretty well, using a solid script and some great stage performers.
LAvish production design and some nifty cinematic tricks as well as effective talking to the camera from each of the band members, guide the tale over the decades....Christopher Walken as ever chews up every scene and you cant help but scream for him to break out into a dance.
..there is not enough of him but then again its true story stuff so I guess they couldnt make it up....its all pretty safe as far as the details and style but never got as boring as I worried it might nor did it much fall into gliche.
...JERSEY BOYS glides along as entertainment with music numbers that had people cheering a bit after midnight when our showing ended, and dancing out the aisle a tad....certianly worth watch and they put in a good amount of humour, nothing more annoying than a too serious biopic.
...and props to how they age the characters/actors, including the finale, well done old men make up....decent show Mr Eastwood....now just stay out of politics you old weirdo.
