Review of Jerry Maguire (1996) by J M — 18 Apr 2014
"Good romance movie".
****.
Jerry Maguire Is a romantic drama comedy film that stars Tom Cruise with co-stars Cuba Gooding Jr, & Renée Zellweger.
The film is about a sports agent that works for Sports Management International. As he grows in prestige among colleagues & in the sports agent world, he shortly thereafter-gets-terminated by the boss of the agency... because of the hard truth of what head chopping cynical competition will do when they see one as a threat & they eat the bitter sour grapes of wrath & jealousy; kick you off the mountain on your climb to the top.
He goes into the business of being a sports agent for himself thereafter; with the help of a single mother & former co-work Dorothy Boyd that left with him; she not only sees the pretensions for business success in him, but also sees him as a righteous dude; wanting to hook up with him.
Once starting in the business for himself he quickly finds out how fierce of competition there is out there, trying to obtain clients without success & juggling a love life with Dorothy Boyd; he keeps Rod Tidwell his client from Sports Management International who is unhappy about the pay he receives in his contract.
This is a very good romance movie; it will appeal to ladies & gentleman; it is an enjoyable love story... It has moments of laughter coupled in with drama that explores happiness love & insecurities, & the hardships of climbing the mountain of both business & a relationship in a cynical world.

I give this film a B + (Bright).
