Review of Jerry Maguire (1996) by Anthony K — 15 Feb 2018
Truly ludicrous and dated plot and script, Jerry Maguire is a completely functional / watchable film, but it makes me REAL mad, like at all times. Honestly, I blame Cameron Crowe, who seems to have a very Christopher Nolan, alien-like perspective on human relationships and sentimentality.
AGHHHH it's difficult to quantify every single ridiculous thing about this film, but lets start with the premise; a career hyper capitalist business man suddenly "grows a conscience", and then (supposedly without drugs?) writes a 110 communist manifesto about how the business should operate. And EVERYONE reads it. And some people are really moved by it! And he gets fired just for writing it.
Ya know what, fuck this movie, I'm not gonna waste the energy.
