Review of Jenny's Wedding (2015) by Priya P — 10 Dec 2015
A nice attempt that falls quite flat. The casting is all wrong - there is no chemistry between Jenny and Kitty, at first I thought the film was just playing the audience until the big reveal that Jenny is gay but even at the wedding the women can't look each other in the eyes.
Kathryn and Alexis are clearly uncomfortable with having to act romantically (let alone sexually) attracted to each other! Jenny's sister has more chemistry with the stranger she just met at the wedding than the brides do.
The story is all about Jenny and her interaction with the family which doesn't leave enough of an impact since her romantic relationship is so fake. Why make a movie about a gay wedding that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual couple? Do better at gay baiting Hollywood.
A nice "how to be nice to your gay child" movie for conservative parents.
