As a fan of this 80's cartoon all I can say is that this movie vaguely resembles anything out of it! This movie should have taken place in the 80's and have original music from Jem ( NO ONE SANG THE JEM THEME, nor even made reference to it).
This looks more like a silly sitcom ?. Jem and the Holograms was a Glam Pop group, not cliche teen pop. And come on! This movie has the same plot as Alvin and the Chipmunks ( or even Josie and The Pussycats! But at least it took itself less seriously.
). And one more thing, it overuses random social media footage, not even related to this movie. There are so many flaws I would have to spend the rest of my day here listing them. Bottom line: It's OUTRAGEOUS, but not in the sense it should have been.
