Jem and the Holograms would have been a fine movie under any other title (not great, but passable), but as an adaptation of the classic 80's cartoon, it was a dud. Some truly, truly, truly outrageous artistic choices were made and not in the good way.

For starters, there were way too many random YouTube clips breaking up what passed for a plot. Second, none of the characters even remotely resembled their animated counterparts, which isn't something you want to hear about a film adaptation.

Overall, the filmmakers could have tried harder to produce a proper Jem adaptation.
