Review of Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) by Prabhat R — 30 Dec 2012
Wonderful movie. A sweet tale of reinventing oneself and realising just an inch of what you want from your life. In the span of a single day, 3 lives will get to cross over the line that will separate them from what they were to what they will/should be.
Jason's character, who hinges on the elusive promise of destiny, will be rewarded for his faith. Ed's character, who's too caught up in the regular flow of life, failing to balance it out with what's important, will get another chance of making things right.
And last but not the least, Susan Sarandon's character, stuck in a dead-end job, going though the mundane motions of a family and office life, will get a tender surprise that will sweep her off her feet.
Susan's was the most beautiful and touching of all the character's story arcs. The resolution to her character's crisis was unconventional, but its portrayal was so beautiful and moving, just loved it.
Just one of those gems that I wish had gained wider release and acceptance. It is a sweet escape from the life's monotony, leading to a poignant climax, which one just can't help but smile at and wish if only they could have that.
