Review of Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) by Marty B — 03 Jan 2013
Did not like this movie at all! Fell asleep. Jason Segel plays a pathetic 30-year-old man who is dominated by his controlling and overbearing mother, played by Susan Sarandon. It seemed the whole plot was about his having to buy glue for her, but gets sidetracked along the way.
(A story about his errand to get GLUE?!?) Then his unlikable brother steps into the picture and makes more of a mess of things, like buying a Porsche without telling his wife and subsequently crashing it.
I found myself strongly disliking every one of these characters, despite so much potential acting talent in Segel and Susan Sarandon. I am still puzzled as to the plot. There wasn't one. The whole thing just meandered all over the place, with the two brothers creating mayhem everywhere.
I ended up turning it off about halfway through.
