Review of Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) by Mike A — 21 Jan 2013
A story of fate and how seemingly random events can all add up to something spectacular. Jeff is a lazy stoner who lives in his mother's basement and puts way too much faith in signs and destiny. However, one afternoon will bring a family of three back together while Jeff searches for his purpose in life.
Jason Segel is the persona of every young person who doesn't know what life is about and plays the role splendidly. The camera work is characteristic of action films and, at first, it seems out of place but it soon becomes part of the charm of the film.
The film doesn't go in the direction one would think and that says a lot about life. We may not understand what happens in life or where it's going but, ultimately, it takes us where we're supposed to be.
This film explores that fact with refinement, grace, and some wholesome laughs.
