Review of Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) by Victoria B — 06 Mar 2013
Oh my goodness did I expect more from this movie. I really believed it would have a "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" or "Our Idiot Brother" feel to it. Just a quirky comedy with some surprising family-based morals to it.
Instead Jeff, Who Lives At Home is rushed, predictable, and rather lacking in the humor department. I found the film focuses to much on Jeff's stupidity, which you not feeling sympathetic toward the characters when tragedy strikes.
(This is a bit of a spoiler) Such as when Jeff and Pat visit their father's grave, were the brothers find they have been dreaming about their dad. While it was meant to heart-felt there was so little character development that the deep moment feels dry and forced.
NOT RECOMMENDED.
