Review of Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) by Thomas P — 17 Mar 2014
A brilliant marvel of a story with some tiny shocks and surprises in the doldrums of life for a few unhappy adults that culminates in them finding some deeper meaning for themselves and each other.
Overall very satisfying.
Always quirky.
At times jaw droppingly hilarious, touching, revealing, stunningly intimate and telling about our human condition.
Filmed in the reality tv-style of The Office, the filmmakers also wisely chose to share the talents of Ed Helms, a screaming hoot of a mess who like his costars here, reveal their multidimensional characters to draw you in, and let you then admire and root for each of them.
And a great poignant ending.
Was not keen on the pot smoking or the several f-bombs, but still.
I love this movie.
4 out of 5.
