Review of JCVD (2008) by Ken W — 30 Nov 2009
WTF? Van Damme can act! I'm impressed!!!
This movie uses the common method of showing the same situations happening at different points of view, thus revealing new information each time. Also, a common mistake is made in this movie, in unnecessarily revealing too much in the first point of view, expressing less ambiguity to the plot.
While the story and its development is entertaining, it remains less than unique. And I reiterate to the acting. Jean-Claude surprises, as he delivers his best performance, playing himself. One moment in particular in which the movie cuts to a J-C monologue, shows not only his greatest acting but can be placed as one of the greatest acting moments from anyone in film.
A must see.
