Review of JCVD (2008) by Lesly J — 03 Jul 2011
Jam-packed with outrageously self-referential comedy, JCVD is so completely opposed to the types of straight-to-DVD films Jean-Claude routinely pumps out, so effectively and honestly self parodying that it ends up being a genuinely thrilling, emotionally engaging, tricky little action film that features a unbelievably compelling central performance from the Muscley Brussel himself.
This is the type of knowingly brilliant film I wish Steven Seagal would make.
