Review of Jaws 2 (1978) by Adam R — 08 Aug 2014
Surprisingly strong though inconsequential sequel to Spielberg's masterpiece that succeeds thanks to the return of the great Roy Sheider as Chief Brody who adds extra nuance to his everyman hero and also a factor is the return of master composer John Williams giving us another fantastic multilayed score.
The film benefits too from strong direction and astutely handled scenes of suspense and shocks, especially the unbearable scene were Brody wades into the sea to inspect a piece of a boat, a scene that always shitted me up without fail.
At any rate this is much better than the other sequels and is overall a solid, well made and well acted monster movie, the scar faced shark looks fucking terrible though.
