One of the greatest thrillers ever put on screen. This film succeeds on every level to entertain. The acting is great, you care about the characters, the shark effects are absolutely fantastic and still hold up today, and this movie really does scare you to go back in the water.
Steven Spielberg crafts such a terrifying classic with Jaws and it his one of his best films yet. John Williams composes one of the best pieces of music ever heard on film and whenever it was heard on screen it made the shark scenes more thrilling and tense to watch and it gives you goosebumps.
I was never bored during the dialogue scenes because the script was well written and Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss gave great performances. It was interesting to hear their conversations and their stories and you really got to know them right before they face off against the shark.
Robert Shaw's introduction in the movie was one of the best scenes and it automatically made him one of the best characters in the movie. I really think that there are no flaws to be found here at all with the film and it was hard to not like it.
After 38 years, it holds up extremely well as a thrilling and exciting blockbuster that never ever felt dated.
