Review of Jawbreaker (1999) by Lijilene C — 11 Nov 2009
This is a decent enough film. When I first saw it I found it rather strange. I had to watch it more than once to get truly into it. I found the more times I watched it the better it became and the more I liked it.
Rose McGowan is one of my favorite actresses ever since I saw her in the TV Show Charmed, and to see her in a film like Jawbreaker, which she made before she joined Charmed, was quite weird, as I was so used to seeing her as Paige in Charmed, and then this film she's bitchy and manipulative.
The thing I found pretty freaky about this film was, how do I put this, well basically "death by Gobstopper", in a botched kidnapping, a prank gone wrong. So yeah, a little on the weird side, and not what i'm used to from Rose.
But still a decent film and now a favorite of mine to watch.
