Review of Jason X (2001) by Edward W — 15 Jun 2010
After being cryogenically frozen in a underground facility in 2010, Jason Voorhees is found and brought on board a spaceship in the year 2455 and of course Jason once again goes on a killing spree as he wakes up from his deep-freeze sleep.
As the 'X' in the title of the film suggest, this is the tenth entry in the "Friday The 13th" series and I guess bringing Jason to space was about the only way to bring something new to the series.
While the whole 'Jason in space' thing might seem stupid and silly (as if the series was ever really clever) my main problem with "Jason X" is that is just flat out boring. The characters, the kills, the thrills are all pretty dull, they don't even take a chance to make Jason more interesting during his 'upgrade'.
Still this is a decent mindless slasher worth checking out if you enjoy some of the other "Friday The 13th" movies.
