Review of Jason X (2001) by Griselda B — 10 Oct 2011
After seeing this movie, I actually didn't want to kill myself, but I seriously contemplated banging my head against the wall in order to eraise the memory of this film. Well, okay, the movie wasn't totally hopeless all the time, but the thing is.
.. It was a total Aliens rip-off! You can't rip off Alien franchise, everyone and their mothers will notice that! Beyond that, this film has lackluster acting, it is way too sexist for it to have any kind of decency and.
.. It's just stupid. The first ten minutes of the film, before they jump in time, are its best minutes. The scenery is cool-looking, you actually get to see Jason Voorhees again and you'll get this oh-shit-feeling when he is cryogenicly suspended.
And after he and the woman wake up... It's all downhill from there, and that's saying something when even the best minutes were worth perhaps two and a half stars. So yeah, this film blows monkeys.
If you're a die-hard Friday the 13th fan, you might want to see this one, but if you're not... Do not see this one! Especially if you liked the Alien films.
