Review of Jason Lives - Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) by Erich G — 11 Apr 2009
After the debacle of Part V the Friday franchise returns to fine form with Part VI. Jason Lives is not only a fantastic horror film, it is also quite a good comedy as well, never taking itself too seriously and giving us plenty of shocks and chuckles to boot.
Thom Matthews is excellent as Tommy Jarvis and is equally matched by Jennifer Cooke as his love interest. There are some classic moments in this film including the RV deaths, the back-bending death of the cop and Jason and Tommy's final battle.
This is also the only Friday the 13th film to feature campers, who provide us with some more comedic moments and also give us another group of targets to worry about. Jason Lives is great entertainment, I recommend it to all horror fans.
