Review of Jason Lives - Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) by Derek H — 25 Jan 2014
A surprisingly enjoyable entry into the series. After an enjoyable, but so-so 5th entry, "Jason Lives" turns into a perfectly enjoyable slasher movie for a night in or a lazy weekend spent on the couch.
One could argue that Jason is at his best here. He's mean, he's ruthless, and he's even showing a little bit of personality with his mannerisms. The film itself has a clever script, almost poking fun at itself and the genre in a bit of a wink-wink manner.
Add to that the fact that the killings have a bit of freshness to them, and the pacing of the film is really tight, and it's a highly enjoyable visit to Camp Crystal Lake.
