Review of Japanese Story (2003) by Kay O — 12 Feb 2008
Hard film to get into at first because it's so quiet, without much conversation. Initially there is a lot of agitation in Collette's character, and film follows her along the the drabness of the Australian desert landscape, going from one place to another, showing a visiting Japanese man around.
At one point it seemed to go no where... Give it a chance!!! About half way in, this film cuts you deep... with questions of love and loss, no matter how long you know someone. Even for a little while.
