Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Ola S — 16 Sep 2011
BBC hag gone Goth many times, including splendid make-up, splendid dress and the inevitable splendid acting. But it's almost always out of this world. Not that we don't love it, but when they combine it with this demonic directing by Cary Fukunaga, it's even harder to beat. Like they weren't unbeatable before.
It's all exact. Not 0,1 inch wrong by Mia Wasikowska in the title part. Michael Fassbender is the most demonic and passionate Rochester you can think of. Even the landscape seems to put itself into the pure gothic light and colors.
What's more to say? Deep thoughts and deep feelings and BBC dares to put in in words. You can say all kinds of things about movies interpreting books. Here are some of the good things.
