Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Rick B — 24 Sep 2011
This is probably one of the best - if not the best - film adaptations of a much-loved classic since the 1943 version. Faithful yet original in its own way. Great script, artistic direction and strong acting (Mia Wasikowska deserves a big thumbs up for her performance here).
Marianelli's string-heavy score cannot be left unnoticed - my favourite score of this year so far. The problem I have with this adaptation is that the relationship between the main characters is not fully developed.
A really fine adaptation to watch nonetheless.
