Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Casey W — 26 Sep 2011
Excellent version of Charlotte Bronte's brooding novel. After surviving a brutal childhood Jane Eyre takes a job as governess at a remote country house in Yorkshire where she falls in love with Mr Rochester.
Tragedy and drama ensue. Involving tale deliberately paced with heartfelt performances by the leads and excellent supporting roles from Bell and Dench. A refreshing experience and a pleasant change from the commercial Hollywood staples.
