Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Michael V — 05 Jun 2013
An ok movie nothing really special. Mia Wasikowska is terrific as the title role, she's the best thing about the movie. Michael Fassbender is fine but not one of his best. Judi Dench, Sally Hawkins, Jamie Bell & Imogen Poots are left out in the back seat, they don't get to do much in this, kind of waste since all of them are good actors that could have helped.
Fans of the novel and other Jane Eyre movie adaptations would probably enjoy it but people like me, would have liked to see more from the supporting cast and at least some interesting storytelling. I do like Dario Marianelli's haunting score but outside of that & Wasikowska's performance, this was really nothing special.
I don't really recommend this but if you're curious, yeah go ahead. Hopefully, you'll like it way more than I did.
