Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Parker M — 09 Oct 2011
The timeless classic of literature is re-cast with a brilliant screenplay. The tale of Jane Eyre is scened with fine acting by Wasikowska and Fassbender. I liked Wasikowska but she does not outshine the great Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Brilliant cinematography which focuses on sometimes the lighting of a fire, or the beautiful costumes of circa 1840s Britain. It is an old Britain, that of the novel, which is well done. Dame Judi Dench, as always, it is my honor to see her.
The music is haunting and plaintive, but nevertheless it does, in the romantic scenes with beautifully shot kissing scenes, shine and touch the heart. I was awed. Having read the novel twice over, I have to say, five stars.
It is a rare occurrence, but my heart longs to see a romance this beautiful, and in matters of the human heart I cannot withhold praise! Bravo.
