Review of James and the Giant Peach (1996) by Dr. N — 09 Oct 2011
A movie that watches like a kid's storybook. The main villains are only present at the beginning and end, but most of the movie is more about the adventure. I felt that the Black Rhino was somehow simultaneously cheesy and scary.
The fact that it was a metaphor for a thunderstorm was silly in of itself, but the rhino itself charging out of the thunderclouds is pretty scary, but more appropriate for kids than a more natural danger.
