I decided to watch this movie soely based on the fact that the lead actor was David Caruso, which may seem odd to some people but he is one of my favorite TV actors so it was the draw of the film really.

This is an "erotic thriller" as they call it. It's basically a crime drama with some erotic additions. The lead character Daivd (David Caruso) is the assistant district attorney who is investigating a grisely murder of an older important wealthy man. During the investigation they unveil a mini-prostitution ring as well as some compromising pictures of the Governor. David finds that the first suspect is a female friend of his who is married to an important lawyer. The story is about David trying to determine what is really going on, as people may not be what they seem.

At it's core this is a basic crime drama but does have some unique twists that make for an interesting watch. It's really all about the charatcers, and the main actors do a very good job. I thought the movie was well directed at times, but there were definitely scenes that just felt awkward and didn't really seem to fit. There were a few car scenes, one being a very long car chase. This chase just seemed way overdone and lost my interest part way through as it was just too long and drawn out. The music in the movie is also a hit and miss. There were some great moments where they used this celtic music which really brought together what was happening on the screen and the overall theme of the movie. Then there were other times where the sounds were very cheesy and just took away from whatever was happening in the scene.

Overall I enjoyed the movie and it kept my interest throughout. The writer has said that his script was changed to the point of him not liking it, and I do get the feeling that they could have took it to a whole other level. This is also an older movie so don't expect anything groundbreaking by any means. If you like crime dramas then I'd give it a watch, but it's not for everyone.
