Review of Jacob's Ladder (1990) by James R — 15 May 2009
An influential psycho-horror-drama film that has spawned many crappy rip offs. All of the acting is quite solid, scenes are pretty well constructed and shot, special effects while old skewl 80s technology, are tastefully done.
This movie takes credit for pioneering fast head twitch/shaking which we see in various movies, video games and music videos. Jason Alexander had a good cameo as a deuschebag lawyer. Seeing so many crappy rip offs before seeing this has made it a lot less effective to me, which makes me unwilling to give it 5 stars, as well as the fact that it's not really worth watching multiple times.
