Review of Jackie Brown (1997) by Kristina K — 07 Jan 2012
It's hard for me to review a Tarantino movie because I always end up loving them. He is one of the greatest writers/directors of our time, and even if you don't like the subject matter I feel like you can still appreciate the artistry that goes into his films.
I thought Jackie Brown was going to be the first of his movies to disappoint me since I had never really heard much about it, but I was wrong. Still a perfect track record. I would love to take/teach a film studies class where all that is shown are Tarantino films.
One final thought (which is nothing novel, just deserves repeating): the man has perfected dialogue...and character development...and suspense...and everything.
