This movie was so good in so many ways, it made the failures stick out like sore thumbs.
I really liked weaving several tellings of the same story. Great action, really really great giants, giant costumes, giant acting, giant sets. Really really lousy human costumes, human sets, and some human acting.
Ewan McGregor acted very well, but why did he look like an ad from Abecrombie and Fitch? Why was the royal armor so totally ridiculous? Why was the royal castle so totally ridiculous? What happened to Ian McShane? I usually like him but in this movie he stank - was it the him, the director, or the ridiculous costumes they put him in?
