Review of Jack the Giant Killer (1962) by Private U — 29 Jul 2007
Often seen simply as an attempt to cash in on the success of the movies featuring Ray Harryhausen's special effects, but look again. This film is an all out fantasy. The visual design of the movie is striking and although it seems to throw in a whole mess of different fantasy elements, this keeps you constantly engaged and surprised.
Pendragon's ghost/troll army are pretty scary yet kind of psychadelic and trippy at the same time.
