+ It is what it is and, as such, was pretty good. It's satisfying to see the Cheney-Bush contractors, dark site rogues, & profiteering mil-men get their due. But more was expected with the Zwick-Herskovitz involvement, and less of the plentiful clichés - maybe from the book adaptation.
Their stuff usually sets a bar - "Legends of the Fall," "Dangerous Beauty," "Shakespeare in Love." Yes, this is a Cruise franchise series but they can handle that from their TV work, one would think.
The first Reacher probably was a bit better - but this iteration was still a good bang'em-up with some decent action. Some of the fight scenarios were improbable except for Chuck Norris maybe. + Is anyone else tired of seeing New Orleans in so many movies (because of Louisiana's generous movie tax rebates)? + This popcorn popper shoulda been better - and better be next time.
