Having read a few Jack Reacher novels, I wasn't thrilled by the casting of Tom Cruise. And the trailer didn't completely sell me either. But I have to say, the movie was pretty faithful to the book, not that this movie needed to be.
The characterization of Jack Reacher was pretty spot-on and the way they told the story felt like the book. I really enjoyed it.
