Review of Jack Reacher (2012) by Mark P — 20 Oct 2018
It's hard to see the character from all the Reacher books I've read put up on the silver screen as Tom Cruise, so this movie is OK for the average action film enthusiast, but hard to grasp from an avid reader of Lee Child.
It was long and complicated but kept pacing up to the speed Reacher deserved, held up only b/c of the excellent performance of the aforementioned star, Mr. Cruise, at the top of his game in 2012. This movie kept the attention of a 15-year old so it had enough #badass factor to keep most viewers interested.
Other than Rosamund Pike the rest of the cast is only "ho-hum" In a weird way there were scenes that built tension like a Hitchcock movie. That's sayin' somthin'.
