Review of Jack Reacher (2012) by Jaye P — 18 May 2014

Solid but not extraordinary action thriller that hits all the right beats but never exceeds above average. All the actors are convincing in their roles, the standout being Werner Herzog as the main villain, whose scowl & voice will send chills up your spine.

McQuarrie's direction is competent and the story is a nice, old school detective thriller. Unfortunately, he doesn't try anything innovative (unlike his excellent directoral debut "Way of the Gun"), thus we're stuck with just an average film.

Worth checking out on your Netflix que, but not much more.
