Review of Jack Goes Boating (2010) by David H — 21 Jan 2011
Watched on Netflix.....A quirky romantic movie that is based on a play that I was fortunate to see in NYC. It works best on stage and the film doesn't do much to make up for what is clearly an intimate theatrical piece.
Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Ryan are wonderful as a couple of lonely souls who find each other. Hoffman is also making his feature film directing debut after having helmed the Off Broadway production.
Purely for those who have a taste for the "independent" flavor.
