As a fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman's impressive talent, I wanted to check 'Jack Goes Boating', and was surprised to read that he both directed and stars in the movie. This is one of those very small movies that rely more in character development and good acting that an elaborate plot.
Nothing much happens in the meeting and eventual romance of two very shy people, and watching these characters can actually be painful at times, but I found the film very sweet and moving, and Hoffman doesn't disappoint.
