Review of Jack Goes Boating (2010) by Brett A — 26 Jan 2011

Fantastic work from Hoffman, as per usual, and Amy Ryan is great as well, but the movie itself just isn't that engaging or interesting. The lead characters and their socially awkward/"loser" demeanor are reminiscent of countless other indie flicks, so there's nothing new here, but it's got plenty of other elements working for it, like the performances and direction, to keep it afloat.
