Jack Goes Boating may have been Philip Seymour Hoffman's first movie but it might as well be his last. I like Philip Seymour Hoffman but I think directing is not among his greatest talents. I thought Jack Goes Boating attempted to be a dark romantic-comedy that failed as both a love story and a comedy.
