Review of J. Edgar (2011) by Samuel T — 07 Aug 2012
Not perfect by any means, not awful either. After coming away from this I don't think I know any more about him then what I did before, other than his hidden homosexuality. DiCaprio has put in a brilliant performace as does Armie Hammer (The Social Network) but this is by no means his best film.
Same with Clint Eastwood directing, this is a very dialogue heavy film, hardly any action scenes, but its the performances that carry the film through. It would've been better if we had more a glimpse into his private life and learned more about him.
