I think we all expected and hoped this to be better. What looked like it could have been DiCaprio's and Eastwood's "Citizen Kane" instead became a good but horribly flawed movie. DiCaprio is excellent, playing Hoover through all stages of his life.

The rest of the movie is pretty flat, however. For some reason, they went with an uninteresting frame narrative when a straightforward one would have worked just fine.
