I've always been a fan of Clint Eastwood's movies when he directs, and when he acts, but this one was just a directing credit for him and I thought the story sounded good. Also, always been a big fan of DiCaprio, been a great actor since he started and all the way through his career.

I was very interested in how he was going to play the face of law enforcement J. Edgar Hoover, and how Eastwood would go through his life, both the uprise and the small downfall. I wasn't expecting a whole lot of action through this, its a biopic drama my friends, so you can expect a lot of dialogue, and great dramatic performances from DiCaprio, and from Naomi Watts, who plays his personal secretary.

Like I said, a lot of dialogue, but I felt Eastwood did a good job explaining his life and the way the FBI changed throughout his career, great job in that aspect, I learned a lot watching this film. Just thought that it was a little boring and empty at times, too much dialogue at points, and just could've had a tad bit more excitement.

Otherwise, if you're looking for a great historical film, and want to learn more about J. Edgar Hoover and his role with the FBI, then I'd definitely recommend this one, just don't expect to be jumping out of your seat with excitement.

3/5 JD.
