Although diCaprio gives a fine performance as J Edgar Hoover, the film fails to give a full picture either of the man or of the impact of his spying on the country. At the end, I was still completely mystified about why the two people closest to Hoover -- his #2 man in the FBI and his secretary -- would have stayed with such a narcissist all those years.
Interesting, but not one of director Clint Eastwood's best.
