Review of I've Loved You So Long (2008) by Stephen B — 08 May 2009
A master class in acting by Thomas, and a pitch perfect example of patience on the part of the writer and director paying of in spades. We don't get the full picture of what's happening until the final reel, but not in a gotcha kind of way.
Instead, by holding back on the exposition, we are forced to confront some thorny issues without the smug comfort of objectivity. A lovely exploration of love, loss, guilt and obligation.
